Author talk—KA ME RA: Modern Japanese Architecture through the Photographer's Lens
Join author Ari Seligmann for a discussion on his new book KA ME RA: Modern Japanese Architecture Through The Photographer's Lens.
Join us for a conversation between author Ari Seligmann and Uro's own Maitiú Ward exploring the rich and complex world of architectural photography — its producers, its dissemination, the publications that have shaped it, and the broader implications of how architecture is captured, framed and communicated through the lens.
KA ME RA: Modern Japanese Architecture Through The Photographer's Lens is a richly layered work that combines photobook, history and historiography to trace the developments and key figures that have shaped our images and understanding of architecture in Japan. Moving through the modern era, the book examines how photographers have not only documented Japanese architecture but actively influenced the way it has been interpreted and understood, both within Japan and on the global stage.
