The precise poetry of Lina Bo Bardi
Some of you might have been lucky to catch the Brutalism Love Fest screenings that preceded last weekend’s Open House Melbourne at the Robin Boyd Foundation’s Walsh Street home. The Fest included a screening of Precise Poetry, a recent documentary on the work of influential Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi, architect of Sao Paolo’s famous Museum of Art, Pompeia Factory (pictured above) and Teatro Oficina buildings (the latter ranked byThe Guardian’s Rowan Moore as the world’s best theatre).
For those who didn’t catch it, or for those who did and would like to learn more about her work, we currently have two Bo Bardi books in stock, including Stones Against Diamonds, a collection of her writings, and AV monograph Lina Bo Bardi 1914-1992. Both provide rich insight into the work of this acute critic and creative thinker, admired by everybody from Gilbert & George to Kazuyo Seijima.
