Edie Fake is a Chicago-born artist who has also lived and worked in Los Angeles and, most recently, the high desert of Joshua Tree, California. Fake attended graduate school at USC and is best known for the Memory Palaces series — precise, intimately scaled reimaginings of the facades of urban lesbian bars and gay nightclubs. Their practice centres on gouache-and-ink paintings that engage architecture, queer space, and the trans body.
