Lindsay Melbourne City Guide is a pocket-sized portrait of Melbourne/Naarm from the independent Melbourne imprint Lindsay—part practical directory, part cultural reader, made for locals and visitors alike.
About This Book
Assembled over a year of research by the Lindsay team, the guide gathers more than 150 places that give the city its texture: cafés and restaurants, museums and galleries, independent boutiques, bookshops and cinemas, and the buildings and gardens that frame everyday life. The selection ranges from a family-run cannoli shop to the house of a celebrated modernist architect.
Between the listings sit essays by four Melbourne voices, illustrated city walks and three excursions beyond the city, all accompanied by original film photography. The result reads less like a checklist than a considered, personal way into the place—how it looks, what it values and where its history shows through.
