MacGuffin 16: The Mirror is the latest issue of the biannual design and crafts magazine that devotes each edition to the life of a single everyday object.
About This Book
This issue turns to the mirror, opening with Agnès Varda's observation that the mirror is the tool of every self-portrait. From there it ranges widely: seasonal darkness and manipulated sunlight, facial recognition, fit checks and mirror balls, fleeting reflections, idealised selfies and narcissistic echoes, alongside a series of confessional essays.
As always, MacGuffin approaches its object from many directions at once—design history, art, technology, social life and personal experience—in a mix of essays, interviews and visual stories.
